Have you ever-so-gently HALF awakened your beloved pooch…

… enough so that by raising his head just a tad, his body

…now unbalanced

begins to slip…

…and without quite waking completely,

…he is fully rearranged but still sleeping

–except at a lower elevation? Ha!

Priscilla caught our fav Boxer bad boy Jack doing just that.

Sweet Dreams, Jack!

One day Swirl plays in the last remnants of winter’s snow, then horray–the sun shines and the daffs are out! It is finally Spring!

There are mossy hide-y holes to check… green green grass to roll in…

and some cool little friends who have been gone for the long winter months have returned…

Hello, Kermit!

Welcome back!

Then, the next day–can you believe it–this:

Which was very confusing, especially to the hummingbirds!

We don’t mind, let’s play inside with the green squeaky ball.

You fickle Spring!

Recently, our friends at 2 Brown Dawgs bestowed upon us a special honor, when they shared their Stylish Blogger Award with us at CooperAndSwirl…. “Hey, Thanks!” sez Super Coop.

We have just two things to say:

“Happy Birthday Thunder!” says Swirl. “He’s 1 (very handsome) Brown Dog.”

And we’re honored to be a part of a very talented blogging scene, that constantly involves, informs and incites loads of laughter and fun. We can help create a more dog-passionate Universe, by putting one paw in front of the other …

So, Thanks!

“Does this mean we get treats?” asks Cooper.

Sure, and it means we get to pass the honor on, which we are delighted to do, very soon…..

When we last saw Little Gorda, she was doing handstands in the snow! Actually, we also saw her in video on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, doing that amazing walk on her front feet across the snow … But now, this precocious, TV star terrier is about as weary of winter as the rest of the country… Is Spring coming, Gorda?

Here, Gorda, sister (in spirit) to our fav bad boy Boxer, Jack (who loves pillows) is doing reception duties for her owner & our great friend Priscilla and her husband, and waiting and watching… for Spring.

“Can you see it coming, Gorda?” asks Cooper wistfully… “It must be just around the corner.”

Some people just bring out the best in their dogs, and this surely could be said for the owners of Mishka & Moki. While the Alaskan Husky is renown for stamina & athleticism, their intelligence and devotion are beloved by their fortunate families. And who wouldn’t like a relative just like Mishka?

Look out Justine Bieber — Mishka has her own youtube channel & her song is climbing the charts!

If you need some smiles on a gray or snowy day, click here to meet Mishka and listen to her sing!

“……..  is Great!”

Especially if you don’t mind playing frisbee in the drizzle & damp …

We recently trekked west to Lake Crescent on a grey, moody day when the clouds reached down to touch the water … and the atmospherics reminded us of the Twilight novels. “Only no vampires in the trees,” Cooper says, “just bald eagles looking for lake trout for lunch… good thing Swirl wasn’t with us ~ she’d make the perfect appetizer for those big boys!”

Heavy moss dripped from branches and formed a canopy over the road … torrents of rain fell…. “Hey, you’re making it sound spooky & it wasn’t!” says the fearless Frisbee King.

In time, the sun broke thru the clouds, and we played frisbee in the little meadow by the lake… with nary a vampire in sight… but plenty of puddles to jump!
